small groups pastoral coordinator  614.259.5397 /

What is your role at JH?
I am the Pastoral Coordinator for Joshua House Small Groups...it's okay, nobody knows what a ‘pastoral coordinator' is.

What is the best part about your role?
The best part is getting to serve with leaders who are the most passionate lovers of Jesus and are dear friends...and getting to preach.

Where'd you grow up?
Part of my childhood was in Cincinnati, and the other half was east of Columbus in the middle of some cornfields.

Family
My extended family is massive (aunts+uncles+cousins=100 people). My parents have been married for over 30 years. I have one brother, two sisters, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, six nephews and one niece. I am not married, I have no children...not even a dog--but somehow Jesus still manages to completely satisfy me.

Fun stuff:

Heroes:
My mom, Mother Teresa, Bono, Bishop Desmond Tutu, John Wimber, Rich Nathan, Martin Luther King Jr, Jackie Pullinger, my friend Nicole Bromley and my best friends who just moved to Amsterdam...Jesus transcends this category.

Favorite Books:
Anything CS Lewis, anything Henri Nouwen, anything NT Wright, e.e. cummings poetry, and I love the classics...

Favorite Music:
This is by far the hardest question. U2, Colplay, John Reuben, Jeff Anderson, Over the Rhine, Postal Service, Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Fink, Greg Laswell, and Lauryn Hill.

Most embarrassing band on your ipod:
I'm going to say Clay Aiken. C'mon it's a track from a Christmas Album!

Passions:
The Kingdom. Jesus. Joshua House. The Vineyard. Family. Friends. Justice. Simplicity. Beauty. Music. Movies. Preaching. Reading. Dancing. Celebrating. Thinking. Writing. Playing Sports. Taking Long Walks Outside. Cooking. Eating Good Food. Learning.

If you could have 3 things in life:
Enough time to catch up on all of the good books and movies, time to play outside everyday, regular connection with my favorite people in life.

What makes you laugh:
Honest responses from children, imitations of people, the Office

Favorite quote: (I couldn't choose just one)
"Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:25-26

"I have found the paradox that if I love until it hurts, then there is no hurt, but only more love." Mother Teresa

"Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell." CT Studd
