What is your role at JH?
Joshua House Administrative Assistant

What is the best part about your role?
Being able to support a ministry that I am passionate about in a way that utilizes the gifts that God has given me.  Joshua House has been such an important ministry in my life and I love having the opportunity to support such an awesome staff.

Where'd you grow up?
Columbus, OH & Rochester, NY

Family
Parents- Tom & Denise, big brother- Derek and my soon-to-be-husband- Justin Myers

Fun stuff:

Heroes:
My parents who have weathered the storm and have shown me how a foundation found in Jesus will sustain us through everything & anything, C.S. Lewis, Mother Teresa and the staff & volunteers that serve our city every day in our community center.

Favorite Books:
C.S. Lewis literature, The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning, Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell, Cry, The Beloved Country by Alan Paton, The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë and recently The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

Favorite Music:
Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Mumford & Sons, Imogen Heap, Feist, Jenny & Tyler, Thao Nguyen and Classic Rock

Most embarrassing band on your iPod:
Seal, but who doesn’t love “Kissed By a Rose”

Passions:
Family, reading, coffee & tea, loving our community and listening to other people’s stories

If you could have 3 things in life:
Lower gas prices for everyone, autumn all year long and for the whole world to have more patience & understanding towards others.

What makes you laugh:
My family & friends, Zone kids (VCC) and sometimes myself

Favorite quote:
"When we want to be something other than the thing God wants us to be, we must be wanting what, in fact will not make us happy [...] God intends to give us what we need, not what we think we want."- C.S. Lewis

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”- Martin Luther King, Jr.
