the twenty-something community of vineyard columbus
The church is not a place, name, building or program. It is a people. There are aspects of our life with God that we cannot experience apart from each other. None of us are meant to do life alone, and even though we know this, we often find ourselves living as the products of an individualistic culture...busy and alone-or maybe we just feel alone because the relationships we have lack health, depth or purpose.
We believe that if people aren't in a place where they can be personally known, challenged, and encouraged their life with Jesus will be limited and their growth will be stunted. Life is better when shared: the joys are richer, the sorrows more bearable, the challenges are put in perspective, and decisions are wiser. This is where small groups come in...
Joshua House Small Groups gather together most weeks throughout the city. A typical week at a small group would include: a time of welcome and connection, worshiping God through song, opening the Scriptures (to talk about how our story fits into God's Story), and a chance to respond and pray for each others' personal needs. We are also committed to reaching out to the world around us--Most of our groups do regular outreach that are social justice-oriented or we take part in events and gatherings where we can easily invite others (who are in and around their twenties) into our community.
